1st Birthday Party Invite

How was everyone's long weekend?  Mine was pretty good,hubby went fishing Friday and caught some fish which we took with us to a BBQ at a friends place on Saturday then my son, daughter and her partner came over for Easter Sunday lunch (they loved the mini cob loaves I made them each) we had a BBQ with sausages and I made some rissoles, salad and fresh buns, was very yummy.  Gave them a container full of chocolate goodies (the reason for the container so they had something useful after they finished their goodies :) )  Monday we started painting one of our bathrooms and the laundry. So was busy but had fun!

Have been asked to make 40 1st birthday invites. She didn't know what she wanted so I came up with this.....

Hip Hip Hooray Designer Card Kit

I just finished making the cards in the Hip Hip Hooray Designer Card Kit.  The kit has made it very easy to make cards.  Everything is cut out for you, has the stamps, ink, adhesive and embellishments for all the cards as well.  Even have left overs!  and  yes I did do the cards the same as what they said to do :)

Thank you card tutorial

Ok home now and ready to try and show you how I made the Thank you card.

First of all you need 4 different colours of cardstock and 2 types of DSP (Designer Series Paper), 3 small brads (or some candy dots), ribbon, Versamark ink, white embossing powder, glue dots, adhesive either snail or fast fuse, Blossom Bunch Punch, Wink of Stella, heat tool and Thank you stamp from the Work of Art Stamp set.

Ok lets get started....

Get each piece ready that you will be using.

All the sizes are written below each piece in the photo:

Glue the 12 x 1.5 cm Cardstock strip together with the 12 x 1 cm DSP strip then glue onto the 10 x 8 cm piece of cardstock on an angle about 2 cm down from each end then cut the overhanging ends flush with the edge of the 10 x 8 cm piece of cardstock.

Then glue the 8 cm piece of ribbon onto the back.

Punch out your flowers with the Blossom Bunch Punch.  The Yellow flower I used all three size flowers and the 2 smaller ones I only used the 2 smaller size flowers.  I use a 1/16th Circle punch in the centre of each flower to make it easier to put the brad through or if you are using candy dots glue each flower together using the glue dots then put the candy dot in the centre.  Then I used the new Wink of stella to put some glitter on the edges of the flowers.

Glue the 10 x 5 cm piece of DSP onto the 14.2 x 10 cm piece of cardstock.  Glue up a bit from the bottom.

Stamp the sentiment with Versamark ink and sprinkle the embossing powder on top of it, turn over and tap the extra powder off.  I use the embossing buddy on the area I am going to emboss as it helps prevent the extra powder from sticking to your project.  Use the heat tool to melt the embossing powder.  Then glue on top of the diagonal strip off set to the left and more to the top of the cardstock.  Glue your flowers on as well.  Then glue this onto your card base.
