Front of new Catty for 2018

I just wanted to give you a sneak peak at the front cover of the new catalogue due out 1st June!

How exciting!!!  As I've said before..I can't wait to share it with you!  Look at those beautiful colours on the front!

Talking of colours, let me share with you the list of retiring colours.

Well some changes are happening with our catalogue and just wanted to keep you informed. Firstly we are having a BIG colour revamp with some beautiful colours you are going to love! Secondly as happens every year when the new catty is due to come out we have a retiring list so don't forget to check that out by clicking on the picture below...

AND thirdly......THE NEW CATTY COMES OUT 1ST JUNE!!! I know exciting right!! I can't wait to share it with you I just love the new stamp sets & colours and well...everything really!! Please let me know if you would like a new catty sent out to you. Another thing I love about the catty is it is great for inspiration, there are so many great cards and projects to form ideas from and get those creative juices flowing!

The spice of life is variety, and that’s especially true in the world of colour. Stampin’ Up! makes a point to keep an eye on colour trends across different markets and industries. When they see changes happening, they review their colour spectrum to ensure that we remain consistently on top of the trends. This brings us to the 2018 Colour Revamp!

In order to keep bringing you the most current and on trend colours, Stampin' Up! decided it was time to give our colour collections a makeover.

The new variety of shades will inspire creativity and allow you to explore more sides of your crafting. Oh & you will love the new stamp pad design much easier to open!  It opens like a powder compact does but still stores the ink pad upside down so your pad is always inked up on the top but it also stacks!!  So you can stack them on top of each other...just brilliant I say!!

So on 31 May 2018, thirteen colours are retiring. Here is any easy list for you to go by:

Always Artichoke     Chocolate Chip     Elegant Eggplant     Island Indigo    Marina Mist   Perfect Plum   Pink Pirouette   Rose Red   Soft Sky   Tangerine Tango   Tempting Turquoise   Wild Wasabi   Wisteria Wonder

The retiring 2016-2018 In Colors are:

Dapper Denim   Emerald Envy   Flirty Flamingo*   Peekaboo Peach   Sweet Sugar Plum
*Please note that while Flirty Flamingo is retiring as an In Color, it will continue to be available as part of our core colour collection.
There are no changes to the In Color programme. Every two years Stampin' Up! will continue to introduce five new In Colors that will be available for the ensuing two years.

We also have previous In Colors that are returning and joining our core colours:

Mossy Meadow   Poppy Parade   Flirty Flamingo   Coastal Cabana   Mint Macaron Blackberry Bliss

If you need to ask me any questions please contact me, I am only too happy to help and don't forget to let me know if you want the new catty sent out to you if you do just contact me and let me know.

Foil look alike DSP

When you don't have any foil DSP why not make your own that is very similar by using embossing powder. This is how it turns out.

The photo doesn't really do it justice but it looks pretty darn good.  I used the Copper Embossing Powder on this one, I also did the corner of the sentiment bit of card, the Thank you and the leaf background.

Here is a better picture of the embossing...

70th birthday card

I was asked yesterday to make a 70th birthday card for one of our CWA of NSW branch members.  So I flicked through our Stampin' Up! catalogue for some inspiration and ended up coming up with this card.

With this card I used Pink Pirouette A4 Cardstock and matching ink pad for the background stamping.  The background stamp is from the same set as the bird and branch which is Best Birds Photopolymer Stamp Set.  I coloured the bird using the Aqua Painters and Pacific point ink pad, the image was stamped on Shimmery White cardstock and black memento ink the branch was stamped on Pear Pizzazz cardstock using the same ink.  The DSP is Whole Lot Of Lovely Designer Series Paper.  I punched a hole in the middle of the Pink Pirouette cardstock using the 2-1/4" (5.7 Cm) Circle Punch.  The other stamp set I used is the Number Of Years Photopolymer Stamp Set.  I used Berry Burst cardstock and ink for the 70 and cut it out using the Large Numbers Framelits Dies through the Big shot.

The best thing I ever bought was the magnetic platform. It helps keep your dies in place on the cardstock before running it through the big shot.  If you haven't got one I really suggest you look into getting one because they are great!!  How many times have you put a die over an image then put the top plate on only for it to move...so annoying, the magnetic plate helps prevent this from happening.

The stamped Happy Birthday and the 'th' is also from the Number of Years stamp.

Hope you like the card and if you would like to order anything or need help ordering just let me know, I'm only too happy to help.  Just click on the "Contact me" for more details.

Pretty Kitty

I was at a friends place and had a bit of a crafty afternoon. I played with the Pretty Kitty stamp set and made a few shaker cards. I think they turned out pretty darn cute! What do you think? Would you like to learn how to make these? They are actually fairly simple to make.

I also made a card for my grandsons birthday, which was a shaker card as well.

On the inside I put photo's of our first ever cuddles.

He is just so adorable to us :)
